This study examines the AfCFTA, detailing its origins and objectives while analysing the key factors shaping its success. It explores how AfCFTA aims to unify fragmented markets by removing trade barriers, and assesses its economic, regulatory, and social impacts, including trade data, infrastructure gaps, and job creation potential. The study also highlights implications for industrial development, labour markets, and inclusion, with a focus on trade unions, governments, and RECs. It concludes with policy recommendations to ensure AfCFTA delivers inclusive and sustainable growth.
