The number of bilateral and regional trade agreements has increased enormously over the last decades. These agreements have a substantial and increasing impact on national economies, employment, gender and development. Usually, the involvement of trade unions through monitoring, consultation and engagement in bilateral trade agreements is lacking.

Produced by the International Trade Union Confederation, the Trade Union Guide to Bilaterals is a start to filling an information gap. The guide aims to provide trade unions with the capacity to get more involved in their governments’ negotiation and implementation of bilateral and regional trade agreements.
